Know what you are growing
This is a compressed coconut-coir material, not a mushroom fruiting block. It is supplied dry in this catalog format and must be hydrated and appropriately processed for its intended cultivation method.
Coir can play a structural or moisture-management role in compatible methods, but it is not the default substrate for Lion’s Mane, Shiitake and the other wood-loving gourmet species featured here. Choose hardwood or straw based on the species rather than assuming coir is universal.
