Substrate supplies food and structure for mycelium. Our catalog separates prepared, uninoculated bags from dry materials that need hydration and processing. Prepared does not mean sterile. No substrate here is advertised as sterile without documented processing evidence. Coir is not the default substrate for these wood-loving gourmet varieties.
