How to use quart clear fruiting tub

Common questions
Do I need a humidifier with a tub?
Usually not for oysters and lion’s mane in a normal flat – two mistings a day of the walls and air keeps the tub in the high 80s. Winter air and a heated grow tent are the two cases where a humidifier earns its place.
Should the lid stay on?
On, with the vents open or a folded towel under one edge. A closed lid with no exchange produces long, leggy, pale growth; an open lid dries the block.
Can I use it for colonising as well as fruiting?
Yes – shelf the bags inside, then switch to fruiting in the same tub. Wipe it down with alcohol and let it dry between uses.
